It is great fun to create happy designs around natural elements, and insects just seem to lend themselves to this. A recent conversation among people discussing box elder bugs ("Boxes? They aren't big enough to box anything....I think they are ticks....") emphasized to me how much the world needs to take a second look at insects. Hopefully my playful little paintings will encourage people to embrace creatures that are unfamiliar to them and allow them to live.
