Pastel on Canson Paper. This painting is about elephants, obviously, but I am fascinated by the fact that the herds consist of females most of the time, and wanted to pay tribute to that. I love the way the big matriarch moved into position herself to protect the smallest member of the herd. Giclee' prints available.
