About

Dr. Jeanne Ames is an artist from San Diego California.  Her interest in art began twenty years ago when her mother-in-law became a docent at the LA County museum of art.   She has used many different mediums including Gourds, Pine Needle Basketry, Collage, Acrylics and Watercolors.   

She has donated pieces of her work to the Los Angeles Zoo Animal Behavioral Enrichment Program, the San Diego Museum of Art, and other non-profit organizations. She was a featured artist on The Carol Duvall Show on HGTV.  She has Juried into TheTalmadge Art Show in San Diego, Le Cirque de l'Art in La Jolla, The Doggone Art Show, The Catnip Connection, Reigning Cats and Dogs, Foothills Wildlife show and The Small Image Art show in Gallery 21  Balboa Park.   Her art has been on the cover of Expression Art Magazine and featured in several books.  

It wasn't until recently that she discovered watercolor.  Watercolor has now become her favorite medium to work in and animals are her favorite subjects.
