Anita Plaks’ life was dedicated to music, performing as a
mezzo-soprano all over San Diego in opera and musical theater for twenty years.
Ten years ago, she began art classes and discovered a love for portraying
animals and people in her paintings. Watercolor classes led to discovering
pastel; a creamy, vibrant medium that lets Anita express her love of life on
paper.
Anita began entering art shows seven years ago
and has won awards at the Pastel Society of San Diego, COAL Gallery, Foothills
Art Association, Fallbrook Art Association, Escondido Art Association, the San
Diego County Fair Fine Arts Show and NCSFA.
