I just got word tonight that a friend of mine is going to have to put his dog down tomorrow. My heart hurts for him because I completely understand the hurt and sorrow and guilt that we feel when we have to let go of a beloved pet.
A few months ago I had to put one of my dogs asleep because of severe cancer. Fortunately my dog (Skeeter) had lived a long and happy life....he was 17. From what I understand, that's a pretty long time for a dog.
Anyway, I'll just say a little prayer for James to give him strength tomorrow.
