For me, September 11 brings back memories of other tragedies that preceded this awful event and were overshadowed by it. Pan Am 103, the US Marine Barracks in Beirut, the Khobar Towers... the USS Cole, the US Embassies in Kenya and Tanzania... all the embassy and consulate attacks in Karachi, Beirut, Damascus, Istanbul and various other places. And the WTC attack of 1993.
