Biography
Jimmy Sun is a visual artist based in Toronto, Ontario. He began formal drawing and painting lessons with a private instructor at age 14 and continued his training through art-school programs. Years of intensive study and practice have shaped his ability to create paintings that are well received by viewers.

Artistic Statement
Jimmy is inspired by the landscapes of North America but does not aim to reproduce scenes mechanically. He seeks to capture nature’s fleeting, magnificent moments and to convey the joyful atmosphere those moments evoke. Over time his style has shifted from realism toward an emphasis on the fascination of light. He applies principles of aesthetic design and uses tonal control, color harmony, and expressive brushwork to increase the emotional and visual impact of his work.
