My grandfather was Alfred Krupa (Alfred Joseph Kruppa).

Alfred Krupa Sr. is part of the permanent collections of 20st century in the Croatian History Museum-Zagreb, the City Museum of Karlovac, the Bauer Collection of Vukovar etc.

The following is a close English translation of biographical information that the art critic Juraj Baldani wrote in 1983: 
"He was born July 22, 1915 in Mikolow, Poland and has lived in Karlovac, Croatia since 1946. His father was also a painter. Young Krupa received an excellent education at the Krakow Fine Arts Academy and kept his talent upgraded with hard work. He participated in the first Partisan exhibition held in Topusko in 1944. Since then, his work has been exhibited in many places. He also held twenty-six one-man exhibitions and has participated in countless collective and fine art colony exhibitions. Krupa worked as an art lecturer, first in the Grammar School at Krk Island and after that, in Karlovac, where he worked in a number of primary and secondary schools. Krupa was also an active sportsman. He trained boxers and tirailleurs. In 1971, he retired and started his career as a very vivid and active artist. As a participant in a number of art colonies, he founded the Yugoslavian Watercolor Colony "Slava Raškaj" in the Ozalj Castle.
For his various outstanding achievements he has been bestowed with a number of Yugoslavian State Honors including; the Medal for Bravery, Order for the Contributions for the People with Silver Collar, the Karlovac City Award, the ZAVNOH Plaquettes (the highest social distinction of the Republic of Croatia of that time) etc. " (Katalog retrospektivna izložbe Alfreda Krupe, Gradski Muzej Karlovac-Galerija Vjekoslav Karas, Juraj Baldani,1983).

There is an Alfred Krupa Street located in the Karlovac City of Croatia. In 2005, the Croatian Philatelic Association of Karlovac and the Croatian Postal Services issued a stamp and envelope in the honor of Alfred Krupa Sr., who died in 1989.

He is registered victim of Nazi persecution by ITS Bad Arolsen,Germany-International Tracking Service. He was displaced from Poland to be employed as forced civil labourer (number 69406) with the Ammoniakwerk Merseburg-Launa Werke in Merseburg-Germany from 24th February 1941 to 27th April 1942. This information has become known and confirmed by ITS Bad Arolsen,Germany-International Tracking Service on 7th November 2012 in document Ref.no T/D -2 271 761.
