Statement

Artist Statement

I paint people, landscapes, and abstract variations of the still life. I develop the sensation of a chosen image: movement, stillness, pattern, joy, melancholy, or reflection. I work primarily in acrylics and sometimes include mixed media. My drawings are painterly using layered pigments, ink, and washes in their development. My work is recognized by rich layering of color, descriptive brushwork or line, and an unmistakable sense of beauty.
