It took forever to finish this pencil drawing. Of course I had a few breaks of several months while working on it. However, I finished it the last day before the entry time was up for the latest "Time, Life and Space" on line exhibit. Several people who have seen it have commented on memories of having similar mailboxes in childhood when living on a farm of just in the country. One friend even knew exactly where this picture was taken from. Ramona, Ca still has a number of them along the main road into Ramona. However, they are truly becoming a thing of the past.
The funny little line drawings, seen in the section labeled Design Art, started as doodles while I was in the hospital last Sept - Oct.2012. Begun on 9/13/12,a new one was started every few days. It seemed to be the only art work that I could do as I felt well enough to sit up and draw. I needed something to occupy my time besides TV and had that itch to draw. I eventually did 53 of them some as I moved from the hospital to the convalescent center and then at home while continuing to recooperate. Then I didn't do any art work again until July 2013 when I did the paintings in the section called Golden Designs. I painted all of them between July and Aug 2013.
