This painting takes us once again to Illinois Beach State Park, this time to the trail that wends through the north unit near the Marina. The Lake is an unseen presence beyond the trees to the right, while beguiling wetlands await the walker following the trail. I was particularly drawn to how the light beyond the trees lit up the vegetation to a warm yellow glow while the cool shade of the trees cast bluish purple shadows.
