| | One of the most uncomfortable things 'about me' is talking about myself... So hang on...I'm going to show you with pictures.
I graduated with a Fine Arts Major with a Minor in Art History from Rhode Island College. I worked as a Graphic Artist.
Some of my favorite painters are are Casper David Friedrich, Dali, Van Gogh and Turner.
I paint pictures I would like to walk into...
like Alice through the looking glass...
to step into another world.
While I can't exactly explain my creative process, my work is developed from my own photos and sketches.
The painting and sketches shown above are based on photos and sketches at Block Island, where I vacationed with my family for many summers. On Block Island, I always think of my late Dad, who spent his weekends here on his boat with my Mom. We have a strong connection to him there.
Much of my work doesn't have figures or anything modern in them. I convey a peaceful world where you can meditate and relax, a place to rest.
This above sketch was developed into a series of paintings called 'Trees'.
The above sketches are for a series I'm working on about the Rhode Island coast.
I am always looking up at the sky. I paint skies that have been described as spiritual.
I've been painting for 30 years and a Reiki Master for 10 years.
Besides painting, I love to travel, meditate and connect with things and thoughts that expand my experience.
I also do commissions from your photographs. My studio is in Rhode island, a state full of beautiful shoreline and natural subjects.
