Sonoma County watercolor painter, Pia McKenna, finds inspiration for her paintings in the nature of her surroundings. Joining the Monday Morning Painters for plein air excursions keeps her ever involved with the creative process. For an artist who enjoys painting on location, Sonoma County is the perfect setting with all the beautiful landscapes, oceans and vineyards. While in her studio, she enjoys creating designs, specifically, Celtic knots, into her more controlled compositions. Occasionally, she can't resist painting animals. It all started with her dog,Max.

Pia's paintings have received numerous awards at local fairs and the California State fair. She has exhibited her works in various shows throughout Sonoma County, namely, Art At The Source Open Studios,The National Arts Program, WASCO, as well as various local businesses and wineries.
