"No Starving Artists Here!" is No Longer Available!

This cookbook was a labor of love. It was a collection of recipes and artwork by several San Diego County artists and friends, assembled into a cookbook. This was a project I  worked on for nearly a year. Aimee Jo, at the time, the current exposition director of La Jolla Art Association, spent hours editing the book and helping me to put the final images in place so we could  self published the book.  It is no longer in print and no longer available. 

 

"No Starving Artists Here!" was originally the brilliant idea of the previous exposition director of the La Jolla Art Association, the late Tony Cuban. It was February of 2010 that he organized a competition of artwork and recipes for all San Diego County artists. The exhibit was held at the La Jolla Art Association. Ingrid Croce, a local restaurateur, also a chef and an artist in her own right, was invited to be the judge.  It was Tony's goal to publish a cookbook of winning recipes and artwork to celebrate the artists and their creativity as well as help raise funds for the art gallery. Unfortunately, Tony passed away of natural causes before the cookbook was even started. The book is dedicated to him.
