Fallbrook Friends of the Arts Event

8/15/10

I had the honor of being invited to do a live demo at the Fallbrook Friends of the Arts annual event.  This year the event was at Helene Ross' house, nestled in the hills of Fallbrook.  Gorgeous views, lots of food and beverages made for a great day.  I set up alongside Celou Bonnet, a wonderful scupltor of horses. We had a great afternoon painting and sculpting and talking art with all the guests.  You can read more about it in the Fallbrook Village News.  http://www.thevillagenews.com/story/49870/  Happy Painting.

Art Show at Corona Art Museum

8/14/10

Went to an art opening last night at the Corona Art Museum.  Chick Curtis, who is a oil painter was part of the show.  The space is great with large rooms to be able to step back and view the art.
It was nice to be able to talk to Chick about his art and his creative process.  His best comment was that he's having a blast doing what he is doing. That was wonderful to hear since I think that art should be a fun process You should enjoy what you are doing.  Isn't that the point?  To enjoy it?  if it's not fun take a break or find another creative outlet, one that fills you with joy.

NEW ONLINE CRITIQUE SERVICE

8/10/10

I'm introducing an online critique system that is very easy to use. Are you in need of a fresh set of eyes on your artwork? Do you feel your artwork could use something but you can't figure it out? Then this is the system for you!

I will share with you the fundamentals to create a strong piece of artwork, which are: VALUE, TEMPERATURE, CHROMA, SHAPES, COMPOSITION and EDGES. All of these fundamentals will be pointed out and discussed to maximize the full potential of your work.

Here is a link to my bio page on my website http://stergulzart.com/about. I have been teaching classes on the fundamentals of strong paintings for 8 years. I also travel throughout Southern California teaching workshops and doing demos for associations and private functions.

Pricing for a critique is $7.00 for 1 or $6.00 each for 2 or more. I  will give an in depth analysis of your artwork and email it back to you with a revised version next to your original photo detailing the fundamentals in a constructive manner. All mediums and subjects welcome!
