Marrying imagery inspired by the artists' experience at Polar Lab Collective with newly-acquired carving skills from 2019 training by Tulalip Tribe Master Carver, Steven Madison, "Snow Goggles" embodies a
message of seeing, learning, and then taking flight.  

Seal imagery inspired by carved mouthpiece of 1910 (accession date) Smithsonian artifact "Bow Drill" (Iñupiaq: Port Clarence, Alaska) museum ID number E260132.  Tribal style design imagery inspired by Iñupiaq ivory scrimshaw collections, Anchorage Museum archives.
