Washington, DC Collection
The artist lived and worked in Washington, DC from the late 1970's to early 1990's. This period was marked by the onset of bipolar disorder. During manic periods the artist produced large, bold works at a breakneck pace. Ironically, as his health and personal relations suffered, he began to paint on larger surfaces and the work took on a new vibrance and emotionality.
