Born in Catania, Italy. Anna studied art at the Istituto d'Arte of Catania, received her fine art degree in painting in 1963. Began exhibiting and teaching art. In 1966 came to the USA, in 1983 studied art at Southwestern College, painted murals with Chicano artists, studied bronze casting at SDSU, worked at the Fire Art Studio, exhibiting her art at the sculptors Guild of SD. In 1989 painted murals downtown San Diego ( Barricade paintings ) became member of the San Diego Art Institute. Anna Zappoli has had several solo art shows receiving many awards. Her paintings are in private collections in the USA and in Italy. ( In my own words) info. about my paintings, in 1998 my large oil paintings on canvas and self portraits were exhibited at the SDAI. In 2007 Exhibited paintings at the Escondido Museum Center For the Arts, Titled, Where do you store these Dreams. large Golden paintings dedicated to Monarch Butterflies, exhibited at the SDAI, Straight Edge Paintings called " Nothing Obscure " and " Cellophane paintings " exhibited at the SDAI and at the Oceanside Museum. Paintings exhibited at the Cannon Art Gallery, in Carlsbad, CA. 2009/2010 solo exhibition at the SDAI Title " Unnatural Ways " And retrospective of Garden Paintings and first Bubble/Wrap paintings at SWIFT Gallery. In my paintings I express my love and concern that I feel for this beautiful world that we call home a paradise indeed.
