I have studied, observed and practiced the creative process all my life, using a variety of mediums including oil, acrylic, watercolor, pastel, and, thanks to a high school art teacher by the name of Bill Stone, tar. Subject matter is just as diverse, the figure, landscape, large detailed florals, tiny beach dwellers, and historic, sometimes funky, buildings. art is an ever changing process just like our lives.
My father was Royden Martin, a listed artist from Carmel, California. He created amazing portraits in pastel and oil, and watercolor scenes of the Monterey Peninsula. Although inspired by my father's work, I was never fortunate enough to have studied with him, however, I would like to think that along with the shape of his nose and premature white hair, I might have inherited some of his talent."
I hope you enjoy my website.
