Settled in Nairobi, Kenya, Celeste de Vries is an artist who has spent a significant amount of time travelling and working throughout Africa. Whilst living in Nigeria, Celeste exhibited in Nigeria and in the UK. Besides South Africa, her works hang in Australia, New Zealand, UK, UAE and various countries in Africa.
Although her passion is depicting wildlife and nature through sketches, paintings and oil pastels she also dabbles in various subject matter in numerous mediums. Her subjects are often depicted in great detail with emphasis on movement and light.
Her philosophy regrading her art is that the viewer should derive as much pleasure from looking at the piece as what she had producing it.
