Classes Overview
- Once a week for 6 weeks
Classes may include beginners as well as artists desiring extra instructional assistance.
The classes are small to allow for group and one on one instruction.
All students will complete a few glazed pieces of art and come away with new friends and an appreciation for potters and their skills!
Curriculum
- Hand Building Pottery techniques including clay building from slabs, coil, pinch methods, using extruders, sculpting and enhancement techniques
- Wheel Throwing techniques, to include centering,
opening and pulling walls to create basic cylinders, vases, bowls, cups, etc.
- Studio safety and maintenance
- Introduction to glazing techniques, including
painting, pouring and dipping
