Helene Leonardi
1962-1966 Studied painting and sculpture at Brighton High School Rochester, N.Y. Attended art courses at Rochester Memorial Art Gallery and Rochester Institute of Technology.
1966-1971 Earned a degree in art from S.U.N.Y. New Paltz. Also, participated in courses and exhibitions at Rochester Institute of Technology.
1971-1982 Taught art in public school and recreational art activities Rochester, N.Y. Participated in art shows and exhibitions Rochester, N.Y.
1982 Married fellow artist Bill Leonardi.
1983-2000 Began my professional art career creating sculpture with my husband in N.Y.C. Our work has been exhibited in museums and art galleries, and can be found in many collections here and abroad.
2000-2004 I created a series of whimsical cat paintings and prints. I, also, began painting works with flowers and food.
2004-Present I am painting cupcakes, black and white cookies, and other dessert compositions in a " Folk-Pop" style using a bright color palette.
