On June 29th, I attended the opening reception for the Art of Resistance exhibit in the Aberdeen Art Center. A quite powerful exhibit. I have two pieces in the show: The Last Crow and Wild Fire. The exhibit is open through July 30, 2025.
I went to hear some friends perform their music at a fun little local bar, the Red Cedar in Hoquiam, Washington. When I went to order a drink, I saw my "Photographs from the Street: Aberdeen Cats" book was sitting on the bar. I asked the bartender (and owner) if the book was hers and introduced myself as its author. She shook my hand and said that the students in a class she teaches at the YMCA had given her the book as a gift because she so often talked about her cats. She loves the book and said her customers also enjoy it.
