This still life was finished just in time to enter into the IAPS (International Association of Pastel Societies) Master Circle Juried Show this June in Albuquerque.While I was shopping in Home Goods a few weeks ago, this plate spoke to me and I knew I had to put it in a painting. I had to play around with the set up for a while before I was able to frame the butterfly perfectly. That butterfly required a lot of pastel pencil time. I don't think I've ever worked on something that intricate. The complimentary colors work well.
