A CHAIR FOR CHAIR-ITY PART III

After transferring the design, I begin applying acrylic paint and India ink. To give continuity to the design, I chose a background similar to a Zentangle. . . a doodling/design process (go to www.zentangle.com to understand this term and  process.) I use a quill pen to apply the ink. Some say I must be so patient with this method. Perhaps I am. However, for me, this method is like meditation. . . it leaves me with a pleasant experience. Of course, I’m listening to audiobooks while I’m doing this! It’s remarkable at how many books I can enjoy while using the left and right brain all at once.

In the next photo, you can see the planned design for the legs of the chair. You may be wondering, "Why doesn't she do it freehand onto the legs of that chair?" By mapping out the design beforehand, it allows me to determine if the design will compliment the rest of the chair's design or not.
