This is an original piece that was created first before the larger "Hawaiian Barrel" painting was created. This is a typical perfect wave barrel that breaks over a very shallow reef. Notice how the inner waters are calmer because as the wave hits the shallow reef and the impact disipates quickly. The reef protects the inner lagoon and keeps it calm.
