Stories of the Sea
Many of the refugees children came to Germany via the waterway with
their families. Both children and adults have experienced the dangers of the
sea, but they have also experienced incredible adventures. Has the image of the
sea remained the same in her memory? How will the children look at the sea,
describe it and artistically express and represent the memories of these
experiences?
In this project, refugee children talk about the home and
paint their escape story with watercolors on papers of various sizes. The drawings
are collected and exhibited.
Then they are scanned and edited by the artist Helga Elsner
into a German-Arabic book of a collective escape story from a childish
perspective.
