This image is based on a hacienda that is next to the Church at Rancho de Taos. The entrance to the patio behind the wall was a blue door with a bunch of chilies hanging next to it. I simplified the image and abstracted it to emphasize the blue of the door and the red of the chilies against the neutral background of the adobe wall and the wooden lintel. The image size is 8 15/16 by 5 15/16 inches. The media is multiple copperplates for the walls, lintel, and chilies plus a collograph for the color of the door. There are four prints as artist's proofs.
