FOUR BULLDOGS IN A 51 FORD TRUCK There was a lot to like with a new 1951 Ford pickup.
It was a pivotal member of Ford's "Bonus Built" line of postwar trucks. The line was announced early in 1948 and ran through 1952
It featured the "Million Dollar Cab" (it cost $1 million to design and tool). Ford said it had "Living-Room" comfort, and it was much higher and wider than before, and better fitted. Styling was classier and cleaner, and the Ford flathead six and V-8 engines were available.
Another plus, the 1951 Ford pickup featured a "grain-tight" tailgate, meaning that it fit so snugly that a load of grain wouldn't leak out on the way home.
But these four bulldogs like it because they just wanted to go to the beach.
This dog’s dream day was captured with the finest French acrylics over a 5 by 7” gallery wrap canvas by local artguy Vern Scharf, then coated with layer after layer of bulldog-resistant glossy varnishes which will protect it for at least 700 dog years.
