Pastel Pastel Pencils are my favourite medium. I can capture detail as well as blend. They can produce amazingly vibrant colours as well as subtle tones. When pastels are mixed together they retain a purity of color which is unique to this medium.
I love painting/drawing portraits of people and animals and in doing so try to capture the essence of who they are.
Oil Paintings Oil painting is relatively new to me. I enjoy realistic impressionism. I find painting with oils fun and exciting as the painting developes in ways that I never imagined.
Coloured Pencil I have always loved working in graphite pencil as it is possible to capture fine detail. As time went on, however, I wanted to be able to add colour yet continue to produce detailed work. I discovered coloured pencil and fell in love with it. Creating a piece of artwork using coloured pencils does take a tremendous amount of time. Colours have to be built up in layers but the end result is well worth it.
Illustration Illustration commissions are both challenging and exciting. I have undertaken various commissions mainly involving product labels and children's books.
