Wildwood Is Where Enchantment Waits Beyond the Familiar

I don't say this lightly, but Wildwood left me deeply moved. Every frame is a literal a work of art, not just visually, but emotionally. The craftsmanship is astonishing, yet what stayed with me wasn't merely the technical achievement. Beneath the beauty is a story about belonging, courage, loss, and the longing to be seen for who we truly are.
As someone who has lived in the Portland area for most of his life, it was especially meaningful to see Portland portrayed with the magic and mystique I have always felt it possesses. In recent years, that vision has often been eclipsed by headlines, civic unrest, and the more troubled stories cities inevitably accumulate. Wildwood reminded me of the Portland I know: a place where forests press against the edges of the everyday, where mystery still lingers in the mist, and where enchantment feels just one step beyond the familiar.
In a world increasingly filled with things made quickly and forgotten quickly, Wildwood feels lovingly crafted by human hands and hearts. I also have the privilege of knowing some of the people who helped bring this film to life, and they should be immensely proud of what they have accomplished. They didn't simply make a movie. They created something beautiful, enduring, and full of wonder. Films like this remind me why stories matter in the first place.
