Awaken your inner child in this workshop. Immerse yourself in a colorful world of creativity using an 8"x10" Gelli Plate, paint and DIY tools.  This monoprinting technique is simple and fun. It encourages exploration as great results are achieved without prior experience.   Gratification is immediate and the prints are amazing!  Check out my BLOG to see more about this intriguing process.

You will create stacks and stacks of prints with multiple layers. You'll then turn them into personal works of art by drawing and painting onto them to emphasize imagery and embellishing with collage if so desired.

In this class you will learn:
  • How to create and use stencils and masks to bring your own imagery into your prints.
  • How to use found objects to create texture
  • How to “save” prints that don't thrill you
  • How to enhance your designs with "negative" painting

Materials:
I will provide a Gelli Arts plate for your use during the workshop as well as some paints, brayer, paper and a large collection of objects to use in the printing process. I'll even bring well used, tie-dyed aprons so you can look the part!

Optional things you might wish to bring:
  • Canvas panels, sketchbooks, fabric, collages and specialty papers to print if you wish.  This technique is perfect for quilters who wish to create their own fabric designs
  • Items to create texture or masks you would like to try – leaves, lace, stamps, stencils, etc.
  • Waterbased paints: acrylics, fluid acrylics, craft paints or inks in a variety of harmonious colors that you like
