A Dartmoor woodland below Black Hill
A Dartmoor woodland below Black Hill

£160

In January 2011 I hiked across Devon from north to south over 5 days. On the 4th day I crossed the eastern edge of Dartmoor National Park and saw this beautiful moss-covered oak woodland below Black Hill. The beauty of the temperate winters and clean Atlantic air in South West England is that it can still be very green even in the midst of winter. Mosses, ferns and lichen provide colour even on the greyest days. I hope I have captured the beauty of Dartmoor in winter here in this acrylic on canvas...Galeria acrylic on Winsor & Newton canvas; 51 x 41 cm/ 20 x 16". Framed size 55 x 45 x 2.5 cm.
