CHIEF of SEATTLE
CHIEF of SEATTLE

graphite, part of my sketchbook(not available for donation now)

The drawing is taken at Tillicum Place, a tiny park in Belltown Seattle, called Tillicum Place. It represents the Chief of the Suquamish and commemorates the relationship between the American Indians of Puget Sound and the incoming European-American settlers. His name was Noah Sealth, who was born on Blake Island in Puget Sound. The pioneers  mispronounced the chief's name as "Seattle" and so he is famous as chief of Seattle. :)
