Bearded Vulture (Gypaetus
barbatus), also known as the Lammergeyer
These long-winged vultures are normally found at high altitudes and
are known for their unusual habit of dropping bones on to rocks to smash them
open to get at the marrow. Adults regularly snatch lambs and goat kids to great
heights before dropping them to their inevitable death, hence the name.
This pencil-sketched depiction
of the Lammergeyer as it hovers above its unwitting prey is magnificent in motion and majesty.
I chose this precious creature as my logo - an aspiration to reach acme in all that I do, every day!
