Painting plein air in Dragoon
Gay Scheibl was raised in a military family and has lived in many places in the world. She received a certificate of Completion for her coursework during her "Junior Year Abroad" in Intaglio (etching and engraving) from the Escuella de Bellas Artes, Seville, Spain in 1977. In 1978 she completed her Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in Intaglio from Frostburg State University, Frostburg, MD. After college she was able to use that training in the field of offset printing, graphic arts, publishing and fine art painting.  In recent years she has joined and exhibited Plein Aire work, landscapes, animal and human portraiture in southwest venues with Silver City Arts Association, Plein Air Painters of NM, Black Range Artists, Inc-Deming, NM, The Sonoran Plein Air Painters-Tucson, The Drawing Studio-Tucson, AZ, and the Tucson Pastel Society. She is contracted with the Soul River Gallery, Silver City, NM. In 2015 she was invited to participate in an exhibit of portraiture "WOMEN MAKING FACES of Notable Women of Arizona by Women Portrait Artists", five of her portraits showed at the Chandler Center for the Arts Gallery, Chandler, AZ. In 2014 she was published in "American Art Collector: Juried Competition of New Work", by Alcove Books, Berkeley, CA.Her artwork is about landscapes and portraiture in oils and pastels.

Gay Scheibl is my favorite artist. She does amazing paintings. If I had a huge home I would fill it with her work. Great Webpage!
