13-112 Large Recycled Sterling Star

This is something new that I have been wanting to try for a while.

I took 16 ga Sterling and bent it into a star shape. Then I fused little bits and pieces of scrap sterling onto it in a completely random manner. Watching metal marry like this makes me giggle!

Then I dipped the star in liver of sulphur, where it took on various different colors due to the different metal contents. All was .925 silver, but some was sterling, and some was argentium. I am sure there was even bits of old solder in the mix.

It is meant to be worn on a chord and is about 3" in diameter.

The result is a piece that can never be duplicated!
