mixed media & collage on paper, 60 x 80cm /Ms Cassatt had the grudging backing of a rich American father. She gained entry into the European and American impressionist camps through determination, patience and much talent. Her paintings and pastels mostly show scenes of women and children, a subject to which it is assumed she was limited.
