Background:
I work out of my home studio in Bradenton, FL, and am an avid landscape painter and kayaker.
I grew up in the suburbs north of Boston where I developed a strong interest in drawing and painting as a teen and pursued of my love for landscape painting through plein-air studies in the Gloucester and Rockport areas. I was awarded a full-tuition scholarship for my senior high school portfolio in the National Scholastic Art Competition in 1972 to attend Boston University's School of Visual Arts where I completed both a BFA in painting in 1976 and a MFA in studio arts education in 1981.
