Natalie Schott and Lionel Stern met in front of a Picasso at the Museum of Modern Art on a fall day in 1944, and married in two months after a whirlwind courtship. My sister Debra and I feel fortunate to have been raised in an environment which supported the flourishing of our talents. Debra inherited our father's gifts for portraiture and illustration. I share our mother's passion for color and our father's for photography. We both inherited our mother's fashion sense, which enhanced our careers in textile design.
