Sue Wren Visual Artist
Artist directory :: Sue Wren Visual ArtistIn 2019, I participated in New York City Pride, where I created an image exploring identity, attraction, and human connection. In the background, I placed a man wearing a fetish mask looking toward the viewer. The threesome is in the center creates a visual tension that invites viewers to question assumptions about desire, identity, and the many forms that attraction can take. The composition reflects the diversity, complexity, and celebration of love and self expression that define Pride

About
The power of narrative, or story telling is at the foundation of much of my art. A single picture creates a complex and descriptive moment in time. I enjoy crafting and documenting new forms of a visual short story.
I grew up in South Seattle living in Holly Park Low Income Housing then graduated from Rainier Beach High School. I continued my education at Central Washington University and graduated with a Fine Art Degree from the University of Washington. I have traveled extensively and lived for a time in the South West. I make my home in the Skagit Valley in Mount Vernon Washington.

 | | I am a photographer drawn to moments where people come together-on the street, in celebration, in protest, and in everyday life.My work grows out of curiosity, listening, and being present. I photograph to honor community, preserve memory, and reflect the quiet strength I witness in public space. |

 | | Just weeks after Northwest artist Morris Graves' death, his most legendary studio, The Rock- a Zen like retreat on a wooded hilltop near Deception Pass-burned May 2001. Property caretaker Terry Smith died in the blaze, said Chief Mike Noyes of Skagit County Fire District 11. The fire erupted about noon, and when firefighters arrived, the house was engulfed in flames, Noyes said. |
 | | Flowers are life. They nourish not only our gardens, but also the birds, bees, butterflies, and countless other creatures that depend on them. As a Skagit County Master Gardener, I have learned so much-not only about flowers, insects, bees, and plant diseases, but also about the delicate balance that connects them all. |

India
India was a hard country for me to visit. We spent a few days in New Delhi and then headed to Jaipur, Agra, and places in the Rajasthan area
Pushkar Fair: The primary location for buying and selling camels in India is the state of Rajasthan. (The world renowned Pushkar Mela) It was hard to look at the camels with chains and rings attached to nose and legs.
Its been hot and humid and thick layers of smog, brick manufacturing dirty smoke.
