Work History Highlights 

1998-2008

Center for Pastoral Counseling of Virginia, Washington, DC Metro Area, Pastoral Counselor:  Employed art therapy in work with clients; designed and led 10-week meditation groups entitled “Mindful Skills for Mindful Living.”

 

1986-1989

Whitman-Walker Clinic, Washington, DC: Director of AIDS Services, as part of support programs for AIDS volunteers, created and led grief workshops for AIDS Buddies using a variety of art therapy techniques.

1975-1978

New York Avenue Presbyterian Church, Washington, DC:  Assistant Pastor in charge of Education, Youth Work, Leadership Training, created innovative program for adolescents engaging young adults in leadership and creating simulation games for experiential learning during youth retreats.  Directed and designed religious drama program, managed creation of sanctuary banners using Bible stories for group exploration and design.

1969-1970

Market Place Ministries, Alexandria, VA:  Assistant Director for the Arts, Directed and Produced theatrical productions in 350 seat theater, managed improvisational theater program and taught, managed outreach program involving play productions in local churches, curator of gallery space in theater lobby.
