I don’t remember a time in my life when I wasn’t creating art. I drew constantly as a child and teen. If I could see it…I could draw it, but my favorite was drawing horses. In high school my art teacher “begged” me to draw anything other than horses….so I switched to faces, my teacher was thrilled. Little did he know I merely traded one obsession for another.
I graduated from Ohio University with a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Studio Arts: Drawing, Painting, Illustration (Graphic Design) and Art History. By the time my senior year rolled around, my instructors “begged” me to draw anything but portraits (notice a pattern yet?). But I love the beauty I see in every face.
I have over 30 years of experience in Portraiture, Drawing, Painting and Illustration. I’ve also taught art/drawing since 1991 to "In School", “After School” and “Homeschooled” Elementary, Middle and High School Students, 4H Members, DD Students, Adults and Seniors (both in group and private lessons).
I am local to and only offer private lessons and small group classes in the Bellingham, WA area. For children, ages 4 to 12, I’ll come to your home (with a parent or responsible adult at home and available) and for teens and adults we’ll meet at a quiet public location, mutually agreed upon.
