Artagain paper

6/21/09

This week I ran out of the paper I've been using with my Cretacolor lead drawings. It was a batch of paper I bought on a whim made by Strathmore called Artagain. I thought I would just use the Canson Mi-Teintes paper that I use for pastels. It turned out to be a frustrating  session. The Mi-Teintes paper I chose was too light, making the umber color look dirty on the paper. The coarse grain made it very hard to control the texture and made it impossible for blending. The Artagain paper on the other hand is smoother and feels more heavy. I don't think I would use it with pastels but it's great for drawing. After I got home I made a bee line to my computer and ordered myself more Artagain paper from dickblicks. After all it is father's day :-)
