Aaron's House: on location
Aaron's House: on location

When I was writing and illustrating The Butterfly Paradox, I knew I wanted to use an interesting house for Aaron’s home. I kept my eye out for any house that caught my fancy and take a picture of it. I drove by a certain house often when I went to my friend Leela’s house and it always had a very cozy storybook feel to me. Of all the houses, this one felt like it belonged in my story. The real house is in Northeast Portland and is definitely not in a rural setting like it is in the book. However, with the magic of my paint brush wand, I was able to put the house in the setting I envisioned.
