Hand appliqued and hand quilted. 25" x 53". Completed in 1998. My original design (by Barbara Dubovsky). Some fabrics are hand dyed. Embellishments included ribbon embroidery and thread embroidery. Each block has a cat. The Tybee Island lighthouse, Georgia, is a place my husband and I visited on our honeymoon with our red Volkswagen. The Port Isabel lighthouse was visited many times on Padre Island vacations over the years. The Presque Isle Lighthouse is dear to a friend who grew up in that area and she provided me with lots of photos to work from. The girl on the horse is my friend's daughter, Angie. Angie was a childhood friend of my daughter as well and loved horses. It's a small wallhanging but took many hours to create.
