Vintage Quilt with Red sashing - circa early 1900's

76" x 88" bed size quilt.  All hand pieced by unknown maker and hand quilted by Barbara Dubovsky.  I purchased this top from an antique dealer at the Dallas Quilt Show and completed the quilting in July '95.  The hand piecing was perfectly done and looked like men's shirting fabrics and mourning prints were used in the pieced blocks.  Over the years, the red has not faded but I am afraid to wash this because it could be a fugitive dye.  I don't know the pattern name but have seen similar quilts.  It's very old - possibly early 1900's based on the types of fabrics in it.
