At the Gorges du Verdon, Provence
At the Gorges du Verdon, Provence

Also known as the Grand Canyon du Verdon, we visited this beautiful deeply cut out river gorge in Provence a few years back. A lovely challenge to paint the Mediterranean landscape with its very different colours to England. It allowed me to indulge my passion for painters like Cezanne, who painted not too far away from here. Cool and warm colours are juxtaposed, and the bright Spring sunlight comes across well I feel, and anyone who'se been here will recognise it I'm sure! Painted on a sturdy Jackson's deep edge canvas that I enjoyed painting on very much. Size 75 x 60 c 4cm; ready to hang.
