Manteau Américain 1919

I created this ensemble for Bleuette with cold winter weather in mind, but a little research proved to find a story to accompany it. Rather than a style copied from the U.S., the La Semaine de Suzette pattern, Manteau Américain, is a nod to the Paris Peace Conference of 1919. We could call this the Peace Conference Coat, and and make our own small nod in the direction of world peace.  This seems so appropriate for the holidays!

This delightful little ensemble includes a fully lined  wool coat in a beautiful heathered shade of blue/green. Her favorite frock will fit nicely underneath. There is hand-topstitching and beautiful stone rondelles as buttons. The matching hat (as shown in the LSDS magazine illustration) is trimmed with a pom-pom and also lined.

Her darling boots are genuine leather, top-stitched and close with a hematite button. I'm including her thigh high cotton ribbed socks . This outfit was sized to fit both vintage and repro Bleuettes.

Exquisite materials, unique design interpretations  and  masterful execution combine to make a creation from Bluebird Textiles  a treasure to spoil the finest of dolls.

 NOTE: doll is not included.
