Chemise de Nuit d'été 1910

  Pale pink cotton lawn and silk floss embroidery were used to create this exquisite summer nightgown using the La Semaine de Suzette pattern of 1910. This summer version, is sleeveless, with bias bound edges and antique buttons. Hand embroidery with silk floss embellishes the front placket as well as the button holes.

  

  Her matching nightcap is of fine, tissue weight kimono silk, also from an L.S.D.S. pattern of the same year. Hand embroidered floral motif of silk floss graces the turned back brim and cap back, and silk satin ribbon ties delicately under her pretty chin.
